No Summer Vacation for Online Marketing

I can’t believe it’s August already. This year is really flying!

Here in Southwest Florida, aside from being hot and humid, it’s also a slow time for many businesses. If you’re a seasonal business that depends on the flood of snow birds that our local economy thrives on each winter, then what should you be doing with your online marketing at this time of year? Should you reduce your advertising and marketing budget until things pick up again? Not necessarily.

This is a great time to review your search engine rankings. If your business is not ranking highly on the first page for your targeted keywords, then people can’t find you when they are ready to buy. Just because your market is not buying now, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t worry about it now. In fact it’s quite the opposite.

Remember, it takes time to get your business ranked highly on the search results. You can’t just go into Google, change a setting, do a little optimization on your website, and watch your site go to the top of the search results. If it were that easy, everyone would do it.

So if you wait until business picks up to start working on your Local Search Marketing, then by the time it gets to the top, season is ending. You missed the boat.

Now is the time to focus on search engine optimization so that your business will be in prime position to take full advantage of the season when it arrives.

In the words of Jim Rohn, “Action is the ingredient that ensures results.”

Don’t wait. Start now.
